new mobem but no net access through router
 

hi i had an engineer out today who replaces my old ntl:120 modem with a new ntl:250 version all seems to be working fine apart from i cannot access the net if i my connection into the router then into the PC.

my PC uses a wired connection no wireless the only wireless connection is the laptop (that i hae not tried).

any ideas why the net works with a direct connection to the PC but not via the router.

Turn everything off.

Connect modem > router > PC.

Wait 5 minutes.

Turn on modem.

Wait 1 minute.

Turn on router.

Wait 1 minute.

Turn on PC.

Does it work now?
