Component > Vga convertor

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TV-VGA-Box-4-W...QQcmdZViewItem

We have a HDTV downstairs which I usually play my ps3 on however sometimes other people in the house want to watch the TV so I can't use that for the ps3

I have a mikomi LCDtv in the bedroom but its a piece of junk the response time on it is terrible and it doesn't handle dark scenes very well. :td:

I also however have my pc with a hanns.G hw191d in the bedroom with the PC connected via DVI and the 360 connected via VGA.

Was thinking of shoving one of these between the 360 Vga feed and the monitor as its considerably cheaper than replacing the TV which given the amount of TV I watch in the bedroom isn't really worth replacing the TV

Do these converter boxes work? are they any good?
I'd be feeding it with a 720p signal from the PS3.

(title edited - component & composite are two very different connections.)

I would assume that it wouldn't be great... you're bound to lose quality.

Sorry about the misleading title, I don't know why I wrote composite.

What I really want to see is a picture from one of these things, for £21 ish I might just take the risk 1366×768 = 720p my monitors native res is 1440x900 generally the 360 doesn't look bad on VGA bit rough around the edges due to sitting close to the screen and not running it at native resolution

I'm wandering if its even with degradation to the signal would it be better than my LCDTV

I think its the same as that one 25ms responce vs the 5ms of my monitor also my monitor is better are reproducing darker colours..

Ps3 comes out pretty good on the downstairs TV (32" sharp 6ms @720p) its just for when I want to play it in the bedroom.

Thought I'd just post an update, bought one and it arrived today.

Had a bit of trouble getting the PS3 to switch into 720p since the TV i had it connected to at the time didn't support it and the Converter needs a Progressive signal at either 480p or 720p to work (I managed it eventually).

There are some small black bars either side of the picture where it doesn't quite fill my monitor (and I can't stretch the picture on my particular monitor either...) it works fine
