HDTV help
Need some help with the connections to a 32" sharp aqous lcdtv
Currently have a 360 plugged into component and set to 720p although the tv also supports 1080i, which one is better to use. :dunce:  TV also has 2 HDMI sockets, got a HDMI cable on order to connect a playstation3, however my housemates 360 is one of the newer ones with HDMI (mine isn't) so I was thinking of connecting that via HDMI instead to free up the compoent input. My Lite-on Dvd-recorder has component out, it's currently hooked up via scart, and I also turned on progressive scan (using cheap scart cables as well, since I haven't replaced them yet) the picture was great. It was Big improvement over the 4:3 Crt we had before, Will it make much of a difference if I buy a component video lead and hook the dvd up via that? |
Re: HDTV help
For the 360 via component (or HDMI) - stick with 720p.
Although if the TV has a VGA (PC) input, I'd recommend getting (or at least trying out) the VGA lead for the 360. I personally find it far superior to component. DVD recorder - AFAIK, you can't actually have progressive scan via SCART. Connecting via component will definitely enable progressive scan though, plus will be better than SCART anyway. |

Fair enough... I actually have a VGA lead for the 360 I use it to hook my one to my monitor. Will have to get a Component lead for the Dvd-recorder then. |
