occasional browsing problem
I have a very wierd situation with one particular website.
For most of the time I can access www.cornishserver.com without any problem. Every so often the site freezes and will not load. During that time I can still ping the site and get a full traceroute. Other people I know can still access the site, however it will not load in either Firefox or IE6. This situation seems to clear itself after 5 minutes or so and then everything works fine for another hour or two. During this frozen time I can still browse to any other site so my connection is fine. It's just this one that gives problems. Any ideas please, it's making me crazy trying to figure out what's happening. |
Re: occasional browsing problem
next time it happens, go into 'Network Connections' and disable then re-enable your NIC, the site should be browsable now.
Similar thing happens to me all the time, I can't quite understand why it happens or what is causing it, but all of my systems are the same (they can't browse...) - which means it's not just my own machines NIC. I was thinking DNS problem, and have since disabled XP's DNS cache and am running through my ADDS DNS server instead - which forwards non-internal requests to an external providers DNS servers...seems to be working so far  |
