Small world cable?
Are these people related to Virgin? Does anyone have any experience with them?
They're currently not available in the CH6 area, but does anyone else know if they're available near them? It also appears they're offering upto 30Mb internet.. http://www.smallworldmedia.com/ |

Re: Small world cable?
theres another post here
from a few posts on another forum (dunno if i can name it) small world's cs people say they guarantee 30mb 24/7 when in fact a lot of places never see half of that in peek |
Re: Small world cable?
I did a quick postcode check, and they say they're not in the area "YET"..which would surely suggest they have future plans to expand to provide a service for more of the UK, and potentially be a strong competitor with Virgin..?

Re: Small world cable?
I am becoming a bit dubious on this thing as it doesn't matter what postcode you type in on the checker - it always returns "we're nearly there". Even more worryingly, it even gives this result if you type in 'testicles' as the postcode, for example. Me thinks it's not really checking anything. Although, on reflection, checking testicles is always a worthwhile thing to do.

You obviously know very little about the cable industry then. They are not, never will be, and never can be a strong competitor for Virgin. They have a few small cables franchises, the extemely small number of franchises that were not swallowed up by NTL or Telewest back in the day. They cannot operate out of their own franchises (except with ADSL but then the choice of ADSL providors is huge anyway) The best they can hope for is to be bought out by Virgin. |
