BBC2 to screen white-themed programmes

From DigitalSpy

Quote:

A season of programmes on Britain's white working class has been unveiled as the centrepiece of BBC Two's winter/spring 2008 schedule.

Drama White Girl, written by Abi Morgan (Tsunami: The Aftermath) and starring Anna Maxwell Martin (Bleak House), examines an 11-year-old white girl's "feeling of isolation" in a largely Muslim community.

Documentaries include Last Orders, about a working men's club in Bradford; All White In Barking, on prejudice in East London; and The Poles Are Coming - "a subversive look at the reality of immigration in Middle England".

Rivers Of Blood will look at the impact of Enoch Powell's infamous "rivers of blood" speech about his feelings on the dangers of immigration, four decades on.
Been a long time coming. Should be very interesting to watch though, although I think I can guess what the result would be - multi-culturalism A-OK.

About time too...we hear too much in the media these days about how *we* need to integrate more!

I personally think that too much is made of the British needing to change to accomodate people coming into the country - while I belive that some change will be inevitable, people arriving in the country should be prepared to change as well. At the moment everything seems to be one sided?
