Werid Disconnecting Problems
 

Guys,

Im on 4mb BB with virgin using a Belkin 7235 gigabit wireless router and ntl200 modem.

I leave my laptop on all night downloading torrents wirelessly, i get great speeds but when i wake up in the morning the connected light is flashing on the router (this means its lost connection).

I reset the router but the connection issue is not resolved.

I have to reboot both modem and router to get my connection back.

Is this a faulty router, faulty modem, ntl stopping my torrents, downloading too much?

Any help much appreciated.

Are the SYNC and RDY lights solid on your modem?

when i look in the morning the sync and rdy lights are indeed on,

If you can I would connect the modem directly to the machine and see what happens overnight.

Last week I got my modem replaced (ntl 120) because it kept dropping connection whenever I started downloading; the SYNC and RDY lights starting flashing and then they would go normal again until I started downloading again, general browsing was fine.

So I borrowed a modem from my cousin round the corner and tried his and it was stable and never dropped.

hmmm, will try parents modem if needed, but will connect tonight just to the laptop via ethernet
