Laptop Help

I have already posted this elsewhere on this site but was advised that it would be best to put it here. Any help would be appreciated.

I've today ordered my first laptop and am hoping to link it to my LCD TV. Please can somebody with a bit more knowledge than me tell me what the best cable for the job is.

My tv is

and the laptop I bought is a Dell Inspiron 1520.

Hope somebody can help, I could wait to get the laptop but I'm desperate to have the cable before it arrives so I can set the whole thing up.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Laptop Help

Both links are dead...

But according to specs the laptop has:

VGA video output & S-Video

So you'll need a VGA cable or S-Video cable...just make sure your TV has one of those..

Can you post the model of the TV as the link is dead and the link has been shortened in your post.

BTW: :wavey: Welcome to CF!

Thanks for the welcome.

My TV is a Sony Bravia KDL32V2500, it appears to have a VGA input in the back, not sure what an S-Video input looks like.

Thanks again.

Ahh - I have the same model of TV - indeed it does have a VGA input.

I think you just need a standard 15 pin VGA cable.

Try Maplins for cables - I think you'll need a male to male cable...
