Cable Forum - Weird issue with ID3 tag and music title

Hello everyone,

well I need some help on a rather weird problem that am having.

I recently had to send my laptop for repairs therefore had to backup my data.
Now, I had partitioned my HDD-I stored my music files on one partition and created a shortcut of the folder on the partition in order to access the files.
When backing up these files I realised that I was cutting and pasting the shortcuts instead of the original file. I pressed cancel only to find out that somehow the original files has disppeared.
Following that I tried to recover the music files by running 'Recover My Files'. I found most of it but never listened to them up until today.
But now I find out that some these music files are corrupt and more annoyingly, some music files have changed ID3 tag and title e.g Rihanna-We ride actually plays Ne Yo sexy love. The ID3 tag says Rihanna-We ride.
This has happened to various music files.

I know its quite confusing. I apologise for that.

Does anyone know what has happened and what can be done other than manually editing every single music file.
