Some Advice Please
 
Right. So me mates pc conked out on him after he installed a game. Its something to do with his motherboard or processor because i have tried a different graphics card and the ram works in another AMD computer. My mobo is crap, but if his old one still works, i would like to use that. Problem is, how do i test it is working? Should i just take it to a shop?

I can't imagine that many local shops would have either the equipment or the expertise to properly test a motherboard.

I'd suggest you build a minimal setup on the workbench. Just cpu/cooler, one stick ram and a graphics card. If you can get that to POST then you're in with a chance.

I got that far last night, but then started thinking " I wonder if itll blow up and hurt me?" so I never turned it on... hehe
