Ok for those that do not know what Google Search is or is used for here is a link.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_search

Now by using Google Search and typing in "WHAT IS A VPN" i was presented with this page. Then by clicking on each of the links i was able to discover what a VPN is.

http://www.google.com/search?q=what+...B244GB244&aq=t

:)

I honestly cannot believe that there are those that do not understand how to use GOOGLE :)

I mean it's absolutely pointless for a 13 year old, more suited to someone working long distance etc.

Why are you buying one if you dont know what it is??

I use the CISCO VPN Client for connecting to work. I also use VPN to allow people to connect to my NAS drive from any location

Re: What is a VPN?

VPN is a virtual private network, it allows you to remotely and securely connect into your own network across the internet.
So you'll be able to use all your network shares / printers etc from anywhere that has an internet connection.
Its somthing used by companies and universities more than home users, for example i can remote desktop into my university machine from home and yet the machine only has a private ip

As a home user I doubt you would need one. They are for businesses and people logging into company networks remotely and securely.
