Help please with digital camera
Please could someone help? I have the Nikon coolpix 2100 which has always worked fine by putting the compact flash card in the slot in the hard drive and a programe popped up and asked if I wanted to take the pictures from the card (or words to that effect).
Now when I put the card in the slot, nothing happens. I have searched high and low for the installation disc but have been unable to find it and am not even sure if this would help me? I've tried using the usb cable to attach to the computer but this gives the same result. Is there some easy way to get back the pop up prompt please? I would be most grateful if anyone could possibly point me in the right direction; I have ebay stuff I want to photograph and am pulling my hair out! |
Re: Help please with digital camera
Hi and :welcome: to the forums.
When you hook it up via the USB cable do you actually see the drive come up? If you do not know how to do this, first plug in the usb cable to the camera and your computer and switch the camera on. A few seconds later, go to "My Computer" and see if an extra drive has shown up. If it does, double click on it and into the following folders that appear and you should be able to see your photos. |

Hi, thanks so much for your speedy reply. Yes, I do see the drive come up. There is a folder with two files in it but when I double click on these they are empty.

When it is showing on Windows Explorer, right click the drive and select properties, and you will see a new window one of them is autorun, where you can tell Windows what to do when you put the card in.

Thank you Halcyon for the welcome :)
Thank you Ultimate, when I go to properties and tell it autorun and then copy to a folder, apply, ok it does not do anything. Every time I go back to properties and try again, its reverted to music instead of pictures. I think my Grandson has done something and I cant work out what. Thank you anyway, both of you for your help. |
