HMMM Wireless speeds

I have a desktop with a wireless PCI card and the router is really close to the pc and I still only get a 15mb but one question my desk is metal can that cause a problem and also doesnt anyone know the default username and password to get d link router config page and the address for router config

Web interface is 192.168.1.1 (i think?) or 192.168.0.1
Login is admin and admin.
