Torrent software
 

Anyone have any recommendations for good torrent software.

Mines absolutely ace except for one thing...

With all the shaping in effect I'd like to have it schedule not to download during the shaping hours but the features I have set up on it are too good to lose :(

Currently I'm running torrentflux-b4rt

With modules to scan and auto download/start torrents and .nzb files based on search rules and filters that I have set up. These rules basically scan RSS feeds from torrent sites.

I would really like the same functionality if poss.

Any thoughts ?

EDIT : Was going to say is that I basically want broadcatching with scheduling and link you the wikipedia page for broadcatching (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcatching)

Then I noticed some of the clients on the wikipedia page :rolleyes:

Poxy website is down it was my first choice - I'm trying Azureus at the moment

i was an azurues man for ages then i went for Utorrent and wouldnt ever go back. Such a small footprint, i think Utorrent got taken over by some nasty company but it hasnt changed much.

Some private trackers are fussy and dont always want u to use the most up to date Utorrent so watch out for that.

Yeh I have just dumped Azureus (plugins are crap also) : uTorrent site is back up... I've installed it all looks very good... yes it has a nice footprint just I'm having trouble getting the web gui up... Unable to read webui.zip ?

Maybe I need to download it

OH DEAR uTorrent looked so promising ! :(

The web interface as like the azureus is absolutely rubbish so I'm back to using torrentflux which has the best web interface around.

I think that all I need to do is to send extra parameters to the torrent clients to enable scheduling and I'm done.

I've never had any issues with Azureus so I've stuck with it.

not sure why but utorrent always gives me great speed better than az or bitcomet and I have set tehm all up the same way

ok another vote for utorrent besides one thing i'm on 4 meg and downloads was coming down at 30 kilbytes a sec, i used to be on 20 meg and out of a fit of frustraiton i put upload to 200 k/s and nearly fried the modem (sb4100) the modem rebooted :S and for a while it looked lke touching cloth rofl

Thanks guys,

I can see why uTorrent gets a lot of :tu: s - Its a simple slick client but not feature rich enough for me. Torrentflux integrates web with a back end client of your choice which is vital for easy administration when you're out and about.

As so far as speeds are concerned it all comes down to how you configure simultaneous connects,correct port forwarding, not saturating your upstream etc. If like me you like giving 10000+ simultaneous connections then a fast machine/disks are a must.

I use Azureus but i don't do anything fancy just click torrents and let them download so it does what i need
