Networking Problems

Hi, I have a PC, a laptop and an Xbox 360.

My problem is that I can only have two of them online at once, but I would like to get all of them online.

I have Virgin Media broadband going through a "D-Link DES 1005SD 10/100Fast Ethernet Switch" which is connected to my PC, laptop and Xbox 360. Currently I have to reset my equipment (modem etc) to use the one that isnt online, but then another one is stuck offline.

How can I get them all online and working properly at once?

Re: Networking Problems

It's a wired-only router/switch.

All devices can go on-line OK, but not at the same time.

Re: Networking Problems

You need a router to sit next to your modem. What you have at the moment is an unmanaged switch.
Have a look at the Linksys WRT54G.

If you have any more questions ask away and someone will help!

I've heard that some routers are better than others when it comes to getting the best connection with an Xbox 360. Does anyone know more about this?

OK, I need a router.

I'm not really interested in wireless so what wired-only router would you recommend, and, do all wireless routers have ports for a wired connection?

Thanks.
