Mac/Bootcamp/Parallels wierdness.
I've noticed, a couple of times now, that when I use Parallels (lets you run Windows in a Mac OSX window) to run a copy of XP that is installed on a boot camp partition, ocassionally, the Mac's internal clock jumps forward an hour.
Not a major problem, and even if I don't bother to reset the internal clock, it normally rights itself if the machine goes to sleep, or after a few minutes. Just wanted to know, has anyone else encountered this? |

I think I've seen this happen after running XP under bootcamp (rather than parallels).
Parallels sounds interesting though. Do you have a linky? |

I think I'll pass though. 50 squid seems a bit steep for what it provides. |

Yep, I have noticed it too after Boot Camp.....

Stu: can't you get some sort of widget or whatever for OSX that checks/updates the system time from an internet time server at specified intervals? If you set it to something like every 10 mins, or even 5 it might make the issue less noticeable.

That, and the fact that I've got into the habit of ignoring the onscreen clocks, as all our PCs sync to a time server that is a few minutes fast. Sadly, I can't correct it (don't have admin rights over the time server) and as Active Directory's password encryption is time sensitive, I don't think it a good idea to reset the clock on that server. |
