Ethernet Crossover cable

Hi

I'm looking to add an ethernet crossover cable from the Linksys router downstairs to my son's pc upstairs. I've found a 15m cable but I just need advice whether this is the right kind of one that will work.

Here's a link to the cable: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/16481

If anybody could give any help, I would appreciate it.

You don't want a crossover cable if its going from a router to a PC. Some routers will work with one but most will not, so its best not to risk it. You need a patch cable.

You shouldn't need a crossover cable from a router to a computer.

You just need a plain bog standard straight-through one.

A crossover cable is needed for direct pc to pc connection.

Well I am glad I asked your advice first or I would have ordered the wrong one. Thank you very much. Just ordering it now. ;)

Most routers have auto sensing ports so it probably would have worked anyway
