Memory....But when I fitted it I had to register XP again as it detected it as new hardware.

Rodent
Comes in handy for a couple things like RTS games or when you want to do some image editing

Docking station. Saves a lot of fiddling round the back.

Proper one or one of those universal ones?
Depends on how much you need to use it at the desk I suppose.

What he said!!

Preserves the life of plugging / unplugging stuff! Seen many a connector go faulty due to user inability to get the pins lined up!

I use a proper one (expensive, I know) as I like to use my laptop at a desk with a proper keyboard and monitor, not to mention plenty of space for the mouse. Of course, on the train this isn't an option.

Although handy for transfering the larger stuff or if your short of HDD space they are a of a pain to travel around with, one more thing to have danging off the back of it.

I tend to buy the caddys and re-use the old drive if I upgrade the internal drive though.

What is an essential bit of kit for a laptop or even a desktop is one of these USB flashdrives.

Got a 2gb one might get another one since they are so cheap atm.
