Advice with router / wireless upgrade
Hi chaps!
ATM I am connecting our home PC, and my laptop via an ethernet router to a 250 'NTL' modem at 4mb. I have ethernet cable running all over the house to allow for multiple connections via my laptop, but I have to admit its a pain in the ass to have so much cable about at times... especially as my laptop is wireless ready. What I want is the option to connect both my PC and Laptop via a wired connection so I can max out the connection speed when needed, but at times unplug and go wireless when I dont need the download speed. What option are available? Cheers in advance. |
Re: Advice with router / wireless upgrade
Wireless routers come with wired ports as well (usually 4), so just get a wireless router and connect as you like.

Re: Advice with router / wireless upgrade
Ok thanks - I'm running XP on one machine and Vista on the other, will this cause any issues?
My Vista based laptop wont connect to my Orange hub at work.. its a known issue. |
Re: Advice with router / wireless upgrade
Should be fine on most Wireless routers purchased off-shelf.
