Advice with router / wireless upgrade

Hi chaps!

ATM I am connecting our home PC, and my laptop via an ethernet router to a 250 'NTL' modem at 4mb. I have ethernet cable running all over the house to allow for multiple connections via my laptop, but I have to admit its a pain in the ass to have so much cable about at times... especially as my laptop is wireless ready.

What I want is the option to connect both my PC and Laptop via a wired connection so I can max out the connection speed when needed, but at times unplug and go wireless when I dont need the download speed.

What option are available?

Cheers in advance.

Wireless routers come with wired ports as well (usually 4), so just get a wireless router and connect as you like.

Ok thanks - I'm running XP on one machine and Vista on the other, will this cause any issues?

My Vista based laptop wont connect to my Orange hub at work.. its a known issue.

Should be fine on most Wireless routers purchased off-shelf.

Thanks Paul. Being rather skint at the moment, can you make any suggestions ref routers?
