Killer M1? Anyone interested..hahhaha
I was reading a review for this 'gaming network card'.
Its a PCI card that comes with an NPU (network processing unit), an actual onboard Linux OS, its own RAM and a hardware firewall. It basically reduces your latency and pings in games, and also free's up the CPU, resulting in an average 10%-15% performance in increase. ....... Sounds excellent, how much can a network card be right? Cheapest I've seen is £179...hahahhaa...jeeeezzzz.....I was interested as well. |
Re: Killer M1? Anyone interested..hahhaha
it's a nice bit of kit, also allows you to download torrents etc whilst gaming, with no effect on pings etc etc... give it a couple of months and no doubt the price will drop.
also being discussed sort of here:Linkage |

Is this the new version that comes without the Klingon heatsink?

Re: Killer M1? Anyone interested..hahhaha
Hmmmm as far as I am aware, the 'K' thermaltake heatsink, I presume thats what your on about :dozey: comes with the most powerful spec.
There is another version of this without a heatsink, it is less powerful however, but is £100. I don't know the order of which they were released. |

I can't find the comparison chart now, but I know the cheaper one is a little slower and a tad more run down on its features. |

Also If i wanted to torrent when gaming I could just set a QOS rule in the router. So why would I need to spend that much on a NIC  It seems a bit of a waste if you ask me and it doesn't seem to serve that much of a functional purpose. |
