A/v Senders
Hye peeps,Ive just bought sum of these off ebay.Exact same one's in ebay for 27.99...the Tri-Star ones.i got them half price
Anyway, ive been browsin (doing a google search) an found loads of repsonses an different answers, including some off this site (which gave me an idea 2 sign up.. I Managed 2 get a pic..not so good one tho in my b/room(using a/v - scart on end lead) and on the transmitter downstairs,(those 3 coloured end leads). The pic wasnt perfect and i had a slight noise interference and i cud not change the sky programs from my room.i have read up that the infrared eye has 2 be next to the sky infrared in order for it to work? altho others have found it work an intermitedly work? sorry to go on and if these have been posted in the past but i would like a bit of oppinions before i go having a go at the seller and asking for a refund lol :-D Mike |
Re: A/v Senders
to give the sender a fair chance check your other equipment in the house some dont like wireless routers and others depending on frequency can pickup from cordless phones and dect phones, i stopped using mine due to wireless router interference, some of the cheaper kits are just that cheap!!

Re: A/v Senders
well i have got quite a bit of electric running in my room. stereo,tv,computer, etc, etc.and also my computer is using a wireless dongle alongside another computer in the house. and there is 2 walls that it has 2 go thru. And i can only situate the receiver next to my tv close to the plug socket etc.
Is there any other ideas which might help me over come this problem, and was i also right in my 1st thread about the I.R eye has to be near the sky i.r in order to change channel in my room? |
Re: A/v Senders
The IR eye has to "illuminate" the sensor in the same way as the normal remote, and both the emitter and sensor are directional, mostly +/- 30 degrees or so from dead ahead.
Similarly, the remote must be line of sight to the sensor on the other end. |
Re: A/v Senders
right, thanks for that,i think i understand that he he
Ill just have 2 give it a whirl tomorrow when i get some spare time and have bit of a play with them to see what happens. Thank for the other 2 replys. Mike |
Re: A/v Senders
hey peeps, thanks to the recent reply Matth on the infrared eye situation.I set it all up again 2day,with the i.r eye infront of the i.r on my sky dish, but not too close...and hey presto...it works ,wa hoo lol
BUT sadly afta all that,i cant use them as it interferes with the Livebox, cant get online as it turns off,the min i turn off the a/v senders,it connects,no matter which channel i set them at OHh well, ill have 2 get freeview or another box i suppose |
Re: A/v Senders
A/V senders and Wifi are on the same band, you can usually get away with CH A for senders and CH 11/13 for Wifi, or CH D for sender and CH 1 for Wifi - preferably not too close together either, as the senders may have a less than clean signal that could still upset Wifi if close to it

Re: A/v Senders
right ok, i think i understand that. On the sender i have got Ch 1-4 not a-d,BUT i will give it nother whirl before i decided to get rid of them.Suppose ill have to hav net on an mess about with the channels on the senders. at the mo i have my wireless dongle set to auto, which is on ch 1.
