Help with VM VISTA NTL 250 AND NETGEAR

I have VM 20mb cable via a ntl 250 modem and a netgear WGT624 V3 rougter hooked up to my pc via ethernet,

I leave my pc 24/7 in my home office but the problem i have is if i leave the pc say for a hour the internet stops working and i have to type ip config/release then ipconfig/renew to get it to work again,

Any ideas how i can fix this problem,

before risking the firmware update, check your router is set to 'obtain an IP automatically' or 'using DHCP' :)
