Yeah they are a nice sorta size to just pop in a bag....

Wander if my e220 HSDPA modem would work with the linux installed on it...
Becuase I'm thinking a nice small sub-notebook + HSDPA modem = Nice combo ;)

EDIT:
http://www.rm.com/secondary/products...cref=PD1030046

Sounds like they won't sell them to Joe public

Sounds to me like The Reg aren't sure. I'm sure, if they're selling them for that money for a profit, there's no reason why they shouldn't market them to the public.

Mind you http://www.rm.com/generic.asp?cref=G.../rmcomhome.asp states that most of the products can be bought for home learning.

Spose you could just tell them its for your son/daughter to do their school work on....

I did a google on the Asus name for that pc and there is someone else taking pre-orders but I can't remember where it was.

Do me a favour if you do.

Could you come back to Cable forum and post a review.

Its all very well these magazines.etc posting reviews but I think that sometimes you get a more down to earth realistic review if its from someone who's bought the product with their own money and actually been using it from day to day in the real world rather than some lab simulated test.

I'd love to see a proper review.

Only one problem - external media? Obviously it'll take a USB stick, but no CD drive? So installing another operating system.?

Well GF is after a cheap basic laptop for her work online, so this may just fit the bill until I can afford the Mac Book Pro for her.

Rest assured I will do a review of them SHOULD I pre-order one. £169 is bloody cheap.

Aye, true. It's certainly do-able. I'd love one just for the size!

Same here. I'd love one so I don't have to log a full laptop around to do powerpoints. I see it does have a VGA output, so I might be tempted...
