Which Long Range & Consistant Wireless Router?
 

OK I have both BT and Cable. I want a Wireless Modem that can support my Cable connection and possibly my BT at some stage.

Currently I have a Belkin Pre-N Router and a BT Hub.
The Bt Hub delivers 5-8mb most of the time but my Belkin Pre-N Fluctuates too often, especially since there are over 8 neighbours who have wireless routers now in range.

I want a router that will allow minimum interfearence, maximum range which has minimul issues for connection breaking and fluctuating of speed.

I am willing to spend up to £100, so pls could you gusy advise me accordingly.

presuming your router and PC are using the same 11n fixed settings and are locked to that so as not to allow 11g,11b connections that should be enough.

however if not, then by far the simplest is to get yourself some replacement 3rd party direction arials for both the 11n router and the other PC s that are using that 11n and point them at each other.

that way being directional means you wont pick up the other peoples routers or they yours so easly and get far better and clearer long range thoughput to boot.

you can also buy or make yourself a simple wireless reflector and place them on your current wireless router arials and point them in the direction you want to go.

i also find all wireless routers iv had, are best positionad as high up on your room/building as possible for best coverage, i for instance have mine upstairs and the downstairs PCs seem to get a far better power rating that way rather than when the routers on the same ground level.

if you have steel reinforced concreate floors then it might be a problem, but its far easyer for radio to travel through plasterboard and wood floors, than brick walls.

i had a URL for some very nice and cheap commercial set of small wireless router reflectors but cant seem to find it right now so just use some card and a coke can as per the above for cheap ;)
