burning audio cds

Last time I burnt some cds to play in the van at work I did it in rather a hurry since I only remembered to do it last minute.

Anyway I used roxio media creator 9 i think it was and burnt on maxmium speed onto datawrite titanium cd-r's

I find the cds have a tendacy to skip when played back on the cd player in the van (haven't tried them anywhere else since thats all i really wanted them for since my own car has an MP3 compatable HeadUnit in so I usually burn data discs instead which I never really get any problems with.)

the van is a vaxhaull combo and it has the stock cd30 cd player in it which of course being a company van I can't exactly replace with anything better.

I was thinking of using something like winamp and burning slower this time but are there any pointers for doing it so that you don't get annoying skips and blips during playback.

If you're using Windows I can highly recommend Feurio.

Never had a problem with tracks skipping (in a car anyway)...

Since we've had these fast writers, I've always burned audio CD's at a maximum 8x. Anything over that and I hear clicks and glitches, no matter the writer or CD media.

Is it just me or do some cd players seem more tolerant of bad cd's than others.

Ahh the one in the van is awfull infact earlier it wouldn't work at all.

Popped a disc out but never grabbed it so it took it back in by itself after a while (as most car cd-players seem to) but then it wouldn't play it and it wouldn't eject it either.. just came up cd error when trying to play it

Might mention it to them when it next goes in for a service but Even if it is playing up not sure they'd do anything about it anyway since its not exactly essential that the cd player works.

The van player laser could be a bit dusty given its environment, you could try one of those cleaner disks with little brushes on them, available from most £1 shops.

I use Burrrrn and burn at x8 (slow) and I've never made a coaster yet.

shouldn't be really... no worse than the average car but i suppose its worth a try.

Someone did say those cd30 players aren't the most reliable things in the world.

Was tempted to get an FM tuner thing but I'm never sure if those are any good or not.

Yeh I was actually considering an FM modulator and one of those Cheapo Mp3 players such as this one.

I do have a walkman phone but these are cheaper than a bigger memory card for it and if I break it/lose it at that price who cares?!

Re: burning audio cds

the modulators tend to work with amemory stick and dont need an mp3 player
