New CPU & MoBo
Hi guys I currently have a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.20GHz, which I think is Socket 939.
I am looking for a great deal on an AMD dual core CPU but would rather keep the MoBo if possible. However, if this is not possible can any of you kind folks give me info on what I should go for at a half decent price. Thanks. |

Re: New CPU & MoBo
Looks like I may need a new MoBo as well. Not 100% sure if the CPU I have is socket 754 or 939. I think it may well be 754. :(
Not a prob though. Cheers for the links Zing, was looking at the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) earlier and thought it was a decent buy at a decent price. |
Re: New CPU & MoBo
if you gotta buy a new mobo you will need new memory as well unless you go for a dual board but that then seriosuly limits you

Re: New CPU & MoBo
Looks like it's time to do some overtime then. :erm:
Better still buy it bit by bit. Might get the CPU this month and the mobo and ram next month. |
Re: New CPU & MoBo

Re: New CPU & MoBo
What is the maximum price you can afford?

Re: New CPU & MoBo
Thats a good question. Looking at £200 all in if possible. Will be happy to go slightly over that limit. Under is better though. Mrs just spent 4 grand on double glazing
