Help!! Ive lost my "at" symbol....

On this temp keyboard (dont ask) its supposed to be "shift / apostrophe" but dosnt work (nor does apostrophe as Ive just noticed) nor does the old "shift / 2" trick work.

Any ideas?

Just check that your computer hasn't reverted to an American keyboard by default. The keys most affected are ~#/\?.

Just a thought.

In the control panel under regional and language options is everything set to English (United Kingdom)

If you want a quicker temp fix, you can do this:

1. Make sure num lock is on
2. Hold down alt
3. Press 6 then 4 on the right keypad (with the arrows)
4. Release alt

At least until you get another keyboard :)

No worries.

You can find a full table of codes here: http://www.asciitable.com/

p.s. if you want to do backspace/delete, you need to do 08 instead or 8.

have you ahd a new keyboard recently or installed windows / reinstalled it
You may actually have an american keyboard with the english language on it

If you @ is located above the 2 then it is an american layout

You could use your on screen keyboard to show you which key is denoted as @.
When you click shift the @ lights up as far as i recall(in xp)

Of course, changing it to a gb keyboard is a much better idea:)
