Inconsistent wireless + Future plans
Hi All,
Couple of questions: 1. I have a WRT54GR router and WUSB54GR USB adaptor and for most of the time the wireless network is fine, with hassle free connection. but last few days the router and adapter are connected, signal strength is excellent, 54mbps as usual etc etc, but it can't find 'the internet'. On previous advice from you guys I have changed the channel, and whenever I reset everything I always connect up in order to prevent the different bits getting in a muddle but still no joy. If I revert to just the cable modem, and ethernet cable into the PC, its fine... Any ideas? Does bad weather affect the actual wireless signals (stupid question I know) I've seen people mention different firmware.... how does this work...? 2. My masterplan is to play music and film from my PC on the hi-fi and TV downstairs... so have been looking around at products like the linksys KiSS and the SqueezeBox.... any recommendations? And to complete the wireless environment (as wires on a wooden floor will look pants) I'm also thinking about wireless speakers - but theres not much on the market, which says something, and I'm worried about different signals mucking things up Again - any recommendations/suggestions Thanks all, much appreciated Dan |

I always go for D-Link Products. This Page HAs Some Products For What You Are After: http://www.dlink.com/products/catego...?cid=127&sec=0 . Most of them are to plug into your Tv, and 1 of them is to play music.

Re: Inconsistent wireless + Future plans
Sounds like the router is having difficulty connecting to the net... You could always try power cycling it again - or what about just leaving the router and CM on?
