SKY + problems

Sky recently called me and offered my 3 months half price. I had to end my contract and start another. This was fine but they gave me a new card which means I can't watch anything on my planner (I have to insert my old card to watch anything previously recorded). As expected I cannot record programs under my old card but It also won't allow me to record anything using my new card - the 'recording' seems to work but as soon as I play back the screen freezes straight away. I'm sure I can phone Sky and they could resolve it but I suspect I may lose everything on my planner. Any other options?

Thanks

:welcome: to the site

From what I understand all your recordings are linked to your card and you will need to have that in the box to watch anything. It's the same if you record a movie and then cancel Sky Movies, you won't be able to watch it unless you are subscribed to the channel.

It does seem a bit strange to have to cancel one contract and send another
card out, almost as if they want to show they are getting more 'new' customers each quarter (tin foil hat at the ready)

'new customers' - I think that's exactly what it is. Any ideas about the recording problems under my new card?

I'm afraid you'll have to delete the old planner programs and phone Sky to get them to try and sort it out. I don't think there is any way of keeping the old stuff working with the new card or re-activating the old card.
