Networking On A Router

If I have a number of wireless and non-wireless computers connected via a router to the internet can these computers talk to each other directly and access shared folders/files etc?

If so, how do I go about getting them to do that please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Put them all in the same workgroup/ domain and they will see each other. Use sharing on the folders you want to access on each PC or create a sharing folder on each one and you will be able to access them all across the network. We have 4 PCs hooked up here and have shared folders on all of them that we source files from.

Cheers,Paul, thanks for that. One of the wireless laptops used is an Apple and the router is the Airport Extreme, does this make a difference?

Shouldn't make any difference at all. You'll need to enable "Windows File Sharing" on the Macs though.
