On Demand Q

Why can I record some On-Demand programs no problem but others seem to have some sort of protection on them, which causes the picture to break-up and turn black and white constantly?

I think it's only the BBC ones you can record? If so then I think it's got something to do with TV licence? Or am I thinking of why BBC is free on demand?

This is Macrovision protection, and is a requirement of the licences under which a lot of the stuff (non-bbc) on on-demand is published.

I was trying to record a HBO comedy program, but when I tried recording another HBO program which is part of a series it worked fine. Must just be like mentioned that certain program have Macrovision protection on them.

I've heard that special scart cables can be purchased that remove Macrovision protection or one of the pins on a scart cable can be removed?

Well, it's true that you learn something new every day. I didn't know that you could record from VOD at all.

Another great feature of the V+!:p:
