Wireless router
hey everyone,
can someone recommend me a cheap wireless router? it is for a present for my friend, and will mainly be used for the wii, and maybe a laptop (she may keep this a direct connection to the modem she got. she is with BT and she has free orange internet if this helps. I seen this for price: http://www.spotonuk.com/info~Itemcd~...o~XG%2D506.htm what you think? Zing I hope you can input on this ik |
Re: Wireless router
Depends on the 'free orange internet' bit.
She may already have a wireless router that looks a bit like an tent or open book spine up over. I'd check that 1st then look at a better brand such as this. |
Re: Wireless router

Re: Wireless router
Draytek used to do one, but it's been discontinued.
May be as easy to by a combined ADSL modem/router... |

Re: Wireless router
Before moving to cable I used a Netgear DG834G for a few years. I liked it & found it reliable.
Available for £42.99 from Amazon... |

but I am having problems installing it..... it just wont do it. I think its a problem with the ISP of Orange, cause I can't find any numbers it dials to. it is a dial up broadband set up she got I found a couple of pages on orange, but not many, they dont give out any numbers to dial into. I am going to try again soon. but does anyone have Orange broadband and have they successfully changed modems to a wirelss modem router? ik |
Re: Wireless router
Does she not have the settings on the PC already from when she was just using a modem?

Re: Wireless router
Has she got the CD still to reinstall?
Link Not that she's got new hardware, but it shows you can reinstall the settings from CD... |

Re: Wireless router
Have a look here for Netgear support info. You need to choose your version, is it 3 or 4? I'd guess 4 if it's brand new...
[Edit] What do you mean by 'the modem won't install'? |
