Could there be something in the claim that in the rush to identify and address the problems of every other ethnic group, their needs have simply been overlooked?

What rush?

The main thing is poverty and boys. The white bit is less important, which is why I suspect this thread will concentrate on it unless we establish this at the start. Poverty we can do something about, being boys is an attitude thing, but I would like to throw in the shortage of male teachers at primary level as a starter, with consideration given to the view propagated in some sections of the media and society that a man who wants to work with young children is automatically a paedophile.

These reports are always coming out, its pretty obvious really that the majority will pick up triats of their parents and see them as the normal and acceptable behaviour thus the cycle continues.

Its a bit annoying as anyone could really tell you what the report says, yet they pay some one £££'s to report the info.

Well to what extent there has been 'rush' to do this is part of the debate hopefully inspired by the post. Clearly you don't think there has been so perhaps you could exlpain why since others may have different views or just want to be educated by someone in the 'know'.

A shortage of male role models in thier life full stop ie;Lack of Fathers etc, and the general breakdown of the family unit.
But, hey dont worry, the powers that be will decree they all need Ritalin, the cure all drug:Yikes:

Perhaps it is for the same or similar reasons that it is almost always only whites that you see:

(a) Selling themselves as prostitutes on the street
(b) lying in the gutter in a drunken stupor
(c) kicking hell out of each other after a Saturday night out on the town
(d) lying around town with a hungry n homeless sign and a mangy cur by their side
(e) kicking hell out of each other after football matches both at home and the rest of Europe

Actually dooper all of them things are done by people of all races and creeds so pretty pointless post by you. I personally blame the education system that has been dumbed down so much to look good on statistics that it is now worthless. When i was at school you had a maths exam or an english exam now though we have foundation english, intermediate english and advanced english fantastic. Teachers and government have gotten lazy with our kids like they have in so many other areas. Time to put the time and money back into our youngsters and give them all the high level of education they deserve and through taxation we all damn well pay for.

I think it isn’t that there are more options; it is a different time now than it was when a lot of people went to school. The needs of white boys differs little from those needs of boys from different ethnic backgrounds, so I do not think it is any racial policy designed to appeal to those kids while leaving everyone else behind.

I think it is simply that there is less motivation for these kids to pass; they think they will be fine and do not really think about their futures. By the time they do they are far to depressed/worried to think about it and ignore it. It could be a lack of good parenting, influence of friends, no real goals to aim from, living in relative wealth that the prospect of a good-paying job provides little motivation or they are poor but don’t see it changing? Also remember this is kind of misleading since you think it would be about colour but I think it's more likely to be the background from which these kids come from. Maybe the ethnic children come from families that place a much greater importance on hard work and achievements, also less broken families and more discipline?

Either way, like most things it will be a complex problem that has no quick fix.

Schools are too busy writing/implementing all the PC/nanny policies they now have to follow - they don't have time to actually teach anything. :erm:
