no email after reinstall
 
hi
i just reinstalled xp wmc edition on my computer, and i have reinstalled broadband but i cannot get my email to work.
i have followed the broadband medic tutorial but to no avail it keeps asking me for a password i have tried all sorts but it wont work.
does this sound about right

open email
go on tools
acoounts
mail
enter name i.e john smith
enter email
pop.ntlworld.com
smtp.ntlworld.com
user name
password

after doing all that it should work shouldnt it

it should work providing that the username/password are correct for your email account

I find I have this problem when I have reformmated. The way I solve it is to go and read your emails on the Virgin main site, after you have put in your details and read your emails it seems to work in outlook. I do not know why but this seems to work.

lol true! happened to me too!

also, make sure in the username u put joebloggs... and not joebloggs@ntlworld.com

ofcourse joebloggs has to be replaced by ur username!

thanks guys i will try it at dinner,
i haved tried to go onto virgin site to access my emails but it isnt recognising my pasword there either.

think i will give them a ring now its prob me who got the password wrong need that many nowadays.
