Fed up - need help with vista and wireless sweex
I have come to the point of posting as me and a couple of friends are completely stuck.
I have just bought a new laptop unfortunatly installed with vista. I have a Sweex router and curently my Windows XP desktop can connect every way with the router but my laptop will only connect unsecure. My options are WPA-psk TKIP or WEP. The WPA will allow the laptop to see but will nto connect due "incorrect key" which is rediculous as I set it and the desktop works fine. The WEP wont connect and takes ages trying for nothing. I don't see anything that will allow me to define the mac addresses whilst keeping unsecure and the manuals for Sweex are completely hopeless. So please anyone with a clue I need help  |
Re: Fed up - need help with vista and wireless sweex
Not having Vista I can't help, but a recent article in the Register confirmed that Vista was having problems with wireless connections....you may have to live with it for a while.
Not heard of that router BTW, you got a link to their site? Welcome to the forum. |

What do you mean I get what i paid for. I paid for a router to allow me to connect wirelessly and thats not what im getting. It wasnt the cheapest one there. Anywhay have decided to get another one eBUYERS 54G WIRELESS and its cheaper, does that mean i should expect it not to work??

Seriously though - I've never had any issues with Vista connecting to Wi-Fi networks... Try removing all the security and re-implementing it with new keys... BTW - don't use WEP - it's hackable... |
