IP in RBL (Blueyonder/Virgin Media)
Recently, I received an e-mail informing me that an e-mail I had sent to a friend (using his work e-mail address), had been rejected because my IP was in RBL. The company my friend works for uses the MessageLabs ClientWeb net portal.
As I did not understand what IP in RBL meant, I visited the MAPS website for an explanation. I used the IP Address Search tool, typed in my IP address, but was told that it wasn't on the MAPS or Kelkea database. Despite feeling relieved, I was also incredibly confused, as the e-mail I had received had stated that it was. The only people I tend to e-mail are personal friends and family members, so I am struggling to understand why my IP is in RBL. I am not in the habit of sending spam, although I have been aware for quite some time that I have been on the receiving end of a lot of spam, which I cannot seem to block. Is it possible that as I am in receipt of so much spam (which I automatically delete), this has somehow contributed to my IP being in RBL? |
Re: IP in RBL (Blueyonder/Virgin Media)
It will probably be the mail server, not your personal IP address.
Problem with the NTL mail server being blacklisted is being discussed here... |
