20Mb Connection Running < 560kb ??
 

Anyone have issues with ntlworld in the bexley area?
My 20Mb connection is running below 600Kb !!!

have you downloaded over 3GB in the last 4 hours? if its that then your affected by NTL's traffic shaping procedure!

They cap you for 4 hours at 5Mbit if you exceed 3GB betwen 4-12pm (I think)

This capping stuff is REALLY doing my head in!!
3GB is a joke in one night. By all means cap by the month but per night is just crazy!! If you need a large download you get hammered!

Tell me about it...

I was downloading a Solaris 10 DVD to install lastnight and hit the cap. plus my modem keeps cutting out requiring a manual disconect / reconect of the power lead.

Been a custommer for 7 years.

I prefered 10M download with no cap then this ball 20M to get people to sign for a year then stitch them up with a cap.

At least I can get out and go elsewhere...

I think the way I'm going to get "around" it is to drop down to the 2mbit package. Sod them I'll just leave my pc on and download though out the day. Plus save 20quid per month for doing so.

37 pounds is a LOT of cash per month. I upgraded when it went 20mbit, was getting great speeds, then the next week got capped all the time, speeds are now around 5Mbit until after midnight, etc.

Guys I couldnt agree more !!

The service has sunk to new lows and I am at my wits end or crossroads dont wether to dump the phone+broadband+V+ package or another words XL or is that xtra lies because im being charged 37 and not even been upgraded to 20 mb and btw the vriginmedia evenfaster page is a joke last update 16th may dont tell me they cant say w/c etc and now some are being told June my area says tbc does that mean end of the month/year ?
And dont get me started on the speed because even more buddies in bangalore actualy now agree its shoddy so why doesnt someone just say the bloody truth ..sorry rant over :mad:

What gets me is I was perfectly happy on the 4Mbit with NTL. No problems. Then I got capped. Grrr! Ok I thought I'll upgrade to this fancy 20Mbit.

Now I get speeds less than the 4Mbit AND I'm paying 37 per month!?!?
