Switching from Bull**** to Sky broadband

Ok, so we're going to make the switch from Bull*ahem* to Sky broadband

Here's the current situation

When bulldog was installed, they put a new faceplate/master socket on the wall (the only one in the house)
It had two phone sockets/connections on the face plate.

One on the right was the bulldog telephone line/broadband, the other appeared to be a disconnected BT line (Bt dialtone, bt Voice when you tried to dial out)

When we were having issues with our broadband, the engineer that came out, cut the wires for the BT one, so it no longer works

My uncle is moving in with us at the end of this month and wants to move his BT line here, but i'm wondering what needs to be done?

I've already sent a cancellation letter and email to Bulldog (no reply thus far)
But BT says they can't take over the line, until Bulldog releases it? or the line itself is "stopped"?

So i'm abit confused as to what we can do

If Bt reconnect the line and bulldog is cancelled, will an engineer need to come out and fix the wiring?

This is a picture of the faceplate's wiring BEFORE the wiring was cut

The blue wires were the BT ones, which were cut both on the face plate and the small connection box thing, above the front door

We've tried to wire them back together manually, but we don't get a dialtone anymore..

They may re-use the wiring but it may be that the whole lot needs re-doing. If asked by BT just state it was like that when you moved in and if they push tell them BD did it. BT cannot take ownership of a line that BD has a marker on so you may need to force the issue with BD but until the cancellation date the line is Bulldogs and BT has to wait.

Even if you wired them correctly you may not get anything as its probably been disconnected in the exchange or somewhere in the network.

When you order the line they should arrange an engineer to get it all connected up for you.
