Personal website

I understand that as a VM customer I get 55MB of webspace. How do I go about setting one up? I have tried entering http://homepage.ntlworld.com/my user name but I get an error message page:-
================================================== ========
NTL

the page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelt correctly.
Click the Back button to try another link.
HTTP 404 - File not found

================================================== ========
Are there any instructions anywhere like I seem to recall on the old NTL website on how to set up a personal website?

Re: Personal website

Use Dreamweaver free 30 day trial and create a page called index.htm and upload it with Dreamweaver using your Virgin Media account details.

Re: Personal website

You can also use a free utility called WS-FTP95
http://www.pagematic.com/ftp/ws_ftp45.exe

It lets you see your files on your computer on one side, and your webspace on the other so that you can easily drag any file accross to your webspace.

You will need your ntl username and password.
For the hostname/address type: upload.ntlworld.com

So if you put on to your webspace a page made in MSword for example and you saved it as index.html you would go to http://homepage.ntlworld.com/yourusername and it would display your site.

You can also create folders and add other files. Eg. making a folder called photos and adding a picture called house.jpg
eg.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/yourusername/photos/house.jpg
