Connection/Disconnection problem
I'm having a problem with my broadband connection. First of all - let me explain what the circumstances are. My whole house is networked meaning that you can just plug an ethernet into the wall and get 4MB internet straight away. The problem I'm having (AFAIK) does not lie with this but perhaps a software issue.
Basically - My main connection (let's call it "Broadband" from now on) keeps disconnecting and re-connecting. Basically it comes up with a small dialog box (yellow tooltip, etc) saying "A cable is unplugged" and then is fine from anywhere to 0.5-3 seconds afterwards. This is really annoying because when I play my games - in this time someone could have shot me or I could be sent back 5 paces when walking around in WoW. I also verified that this was the case by the fact that when it is disconnected and someone is talking on TS/ventrilo - the sound lags until it is reconnected (is it not receiving/sending packets for this duration) ? I have no idea how to fix this so... Help me please, experts! :P Thanks in advance, Dan |

Re: Connection/Disconnection problem
Failing that, do you have a different NIC (eg a PCI one) just to test it with? Or maybe trying a different cable/socket in case something's loose?
