New V+ box

I got a V+ box fitted a few weeks ago which I think is brilliant apart from a couple of things. The thing I love the most is being able to tape a full series with the touch of one button. What I don't like and was wondering if there is a solution to is:

1) I am no longer able to get teristeral TV through channels 1-5 which allows me to get teletext. My parents can get it but I can't.

2) With my old box when I set my favourites these were the channels I would flick through first to see what is on, that doesn't happen with this box.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

You must of had a bypass fitted to your old box the V+ box does not have this function .Thats why it has 3 tuners if you want 1 to 5 back you will have to ger a external aerial
2 To get ypur fav you have to press the red button when in the mini guide hope this info helps :)

Do you mean when a V+ user doesn't have any favourites set, or every time? For just viewing my favourites the Fav button on my [black - I thought I'd heard some people were using the old blue remote with their V+] V+ remote works fine.

Now if only they'd give us back the ability to re-arrange them in the order we want...

<edit>
The Guide button on the other hand doesn't work the way the 1 on my old blue remote with my old Pace box did. All it does is bring up the mini guide, which is the same as pressing the TV button. I know I can then press the green button to get to the Guide, but it would be nice if the Guide button worked the way it used to on my non-V+ box.

If you set the channels you want to see as your favourites, although it won't reorder them, when you press guide it will bring up the mini guide to show only those channels you've chosen as your favourites.

I too miss the ability to reorder the channels and move all the ones I don't watch to the bottom :(

I absolutely love my V+ box, the only thing that gets on my nerves is it tends to cut off the back end of the program i am watching. Is there anything i can do to extend the timings as virgin technical department dont have a clue.

Yes, go into the V+ menu, select V+ extras, then extend recording. Increase the 'add time after end' :)

Don't get TOO excited. You'll probably get a load or "Part-rec" recordings soon like I do for no apparent reason.
