Poor picture quality & card problems (Standard VBox)

Hi,

Got my VM TV service installed today, but I've been having lots of problems with it. Firstly the IQ is horrible, even worse than my IDTV which I though was pretty bad. There's a strange "rolling" pattern going diagonally across the screen, and the image itself is not very sharp. The VBox is connected over SCART to a Samsung LCD TV. Secondly, every time I change channel it tells me that my Viewing Card is invalid?! And I then have to press OK to get rod of the message :td:

Can anyone please help me out?

Cheers,

Suman

Hi Sumanji,
Did the engineer leave you with this picture quality? Have you tried unplugging the box for a minute or so?. If you have and nothing has improved get on to Faults on 151.
Sorry I can't be of more positive help.
Jo

Hey,

Yup it was the baseline IQ straight off the bat. I've tried resetting box, leaving it with no power etc. Surely that isn't normal quality :( it looks like a poorly encoded DivX to be honest! I have a new-looking VM-branded Samsung SMT-2110C (but still with an old NTL Smartcard?!). I tried changing to RBG but it made no difference whatsoever. Although maybe that SCART input on my TV doesn't support RGB? I'll go and check now!

Cheers,

Suman

Ah well that solved it... only one of the SCARTs on my TV supports RGB and the VBox looked pretty superb when connected via it. However, that socket belongs to my DVD player!

Oh well, I've been looking for an excuse to get a new HDMI-upscaling Pioneer DVD player...

Thanks for the help guys!
