Ebay - missing parcel & feedback?

I recently won an item on a maiden bid, hence a good price (seller ended on a Monday lunchtime and spelt brand wrong :) ).
Paid by PP immediately and waited.
After four days waiting got in touch with seller who said he put in the Royal Mail Parcels the same day (no insurance offered, but RM parcels cover cost as standard). After several emails I agreed to wait 'til end of two weeks so he can claim of RM, but still no parcel.
He will be giving a full refund (have told him to make sure it's a PP 'refund' to stop charges).
Question is, if it is an innocent 'lost in post' (rather than didn't like the final price) and assuming it is a full uncharged refund, should he get a postive feedback, neutral or none? (Already left me a positive, and he has about 250+)

Thoughts on a postcard, please :)

Might want to wait and see if he re-advertises the item for sale in the near future ;)

Yep because he is giving you your money back with no arguments and it seems he is being fair about it all

I've never used Ebay before, but the seller seems honest and is giving you a full refund so I would give him positive feedback.

He will be losing his selling fees, IIRC these are only got back by filing a non-paying bidder, and he wouldn't be able to do this. So assuming the guy did send the parcel and it got lost, then the guy is losing money. And even if he didn't send it, and gives you a refund then he is still losing money.

Good point about the seller fees Chris.
Maybe I'm too cynical. ;) guess I'll leave a +ve when the refund arrives.

When the refund arrives, give the seller positive feedback and explain how he handled the situation.

Buyers are aware that things don't always go to plan and would probably appreciate seeing that they refunded with no fuss once it was clear it wasn't going to arrive.

I'd of started an item not arrived dispute with Paypal myself by now - that way you can be sure you'll get your money back.

I had a similar situation from a buyer, he did give a refund (was told the item was too damaged to send) but the next day he was selling the same item and not just one, there were 5! I'm still sure it was because it went for such a low price RRP was £90 and I won it for £30 Plus £10 P&P. Because of this I gave him bad feedback as he could've just given me one of the new ones he was selling as I did make him aware that I was still interested if he received the same item or similar.

Obviously he replied with bad feedback to me so id advise yo to keep it positive or neutral!

I'd be inclined to wait and let the seller reveal his hand. If he/she is conveniently losing items because the winning bid was too low, future bidders need to know this.
