Just stumbled upon this site - they've got one million free photos that can be used for Powerpoint presentations, non-commercial websites, newsletters, etc...

As a photographer, I am curious to know who would submit their photos to a stock site that gave them away for free, which makes me wonder as to their legality.

As far as I'm aware they are quite legal and the photos are on the whole reject photos from professional and amateur photographers at the Stock Exchange. Some photos are offered with strings attached and some you do have to pay for.

As to giving stuff away, well I have found the artistic community online one of the most generous of groups.I'm frequently overcome at the generosity of people who offer for free, items that have taken them ages to produce.:)

They're all supposedly released under the creative commons license.

Fair enough...I only spent a couple of mins on each site looking for what might be in it for me...but then I am a filthy capitalist ;)
