Virgin Media and windows Vista
Hi all
My name is Bungle and i hope you can help. I have had a cable modem ntl:250 (connecting through a netgear ethernet ea 101 usb adaptor.) recently instaled and was working fine with xp. Then i installed windows vista and since have not been able to connect to the net. I have tried all the turning off and switching on and still the same. I also tried to bypass the ethernet adaptor and use the cable straight from the moden to the computer and still no internet. When looking on device manager i found the there was a problem with the pci controller but can't get on the net to download anything. Is there something simple im not doing or checking? as this is starting to drive me mad. I would be very greatful if anyone can help as i have had similar problems with virgin being not so helpful. if there is any information i have not included please let me know . Thanks in advance . Re: Virgin Media and windows Vista
Sounds like your pci Ethernet card needs new "vista compatible" drivers. You'd need to find the make of the card, then visit the manufactures website and check if they have them. If it's a built-in adaptor you'd need the latest motherboard drivers instead. Vista is still new and as yet, not everything is compatible.

:welcome: what does the problem say? does it need a driver? does it show up in control panel network connections? Is it motherboard or add on card ethernet? do you have a model number

Re: Virgin Media and windows Vista
we now have a small support team for windows vista from today, maybe give tech support a quick call once you have checked your drivers.
