Re: broadband via stb or cable modem
Nope
Had a Sammy STB swapped out for a SACM 250 on Friday, and everything works fine; have you followed the standard reboot sequence ? All powered down Power up SACM (wait for a minute) Power up Router (wait for a minute) Power up PC |
Re: broadband via stb or cable modem
Which router are you using?
I connected to the SACM directly with the computer - got that working, and then powered down both computer, and SACM. Connected Wireless router, powered up SACM, and then computer. I then cloned the MAC address from the computer to the router. Everything works fine - although I would say that the speeds shown on www.speedtest.net show slightly slower through the SACM than they were through the STB. |

Re: Change to Cable Modem: Router Won't Connect
Thread has been merged, doesn't need two on the same subject ;)
Firstly as you are posting I assume you can connect a single PC direct by ethernet to the modem? To connect up the router, power off everything, swap the wire from the PC to modem, into the router (WAN) to modem, add another ethernet between router (LAN) and PC, power up modem, then router, then PC. If it doesn't work, are you able to browse to the router's admin pages? Have you got any weird settings in the router from previous use? Try a factory reset on the router, and reboot everything to clear it. Verify it all works wired, before trying to enable the wireless. If you still have problems, let us know what router, and confirm how you have it all wired up. |
