A question on the splitter connection...

Does the splitter have to be relatively near to the brown box outside of the house. The reason I ask is that I want them to connect to a T.V. that is in the back of the House..and the outside Brown box is on a wall at the front. Will they do this for me or will the distance be too far. My cable connection for the B.B. is at the back and goes through our roof space..Would they take this action anyone know. Or will I have to have it connected at the front.

Anyone explain please.

Thanks

Chrisann

Re: A question on the splitter connection...

The cable can be split at any point. The only problem is that the signal strength reduces along the length of the cable and with every split.

For this reason for signal strength, it is usually best to have the splitter in the brown box. However, because you will only have 2 devices, there will probably be enough signal to split it at the back of your property. In your circumstances it would also be easier for the installer. Make him a brew and tell him what you want.

Digi-tel. Thanks so much for your comments..they are appreciated.
I will ask for the connection to be taken to the set at the back and hope he will oblige...with a cuppa of course.

Can I also ask..when everythin g is set up it won't affect my B.B. connection will it and the wifi....I mean I won't have to re set all the passwords for the B.B. and everything will I?

Chrisann.

Cheers...Chrisann.

Your broadband, PC and wireless settings will be unchanged and work as before. But I would check that your broadband is still working before he leaves.
