With a crappy upload still.

VM will not be doing a 2.5mb upload :)

Re: Be Pro

crap i made a new thread, didnt see this, virgin media can not get away with 768k upload for £37 a month, they realy need to revise there upload speeds

Re: Be Pro

I doubt Virgin Media will even give 1Mb upload on the 20Mb service... :(

I totally agree with you but I just can't see them increasing the upload to more than 1Mb... :(

I suppose the small print is important:

Quote:

If your line is two kilometres long then you can expect to receive up to 15 megs (dependent on the above circumstances). Your bandwidth will decrease further as line length increases, and we do not offer our service if you are further than 5.5 kilometres from the exchange.
So it's only available to people within 3.4 miles of their exchange - and you're only likely to get these speeds if you live within one mile.

True - but it did seem very limited - 3.4miles from an exchange doesn't seem far

The line will be longer though.

The 3.4 miles is as the crow flies. I think its safe to assume the line does not take the same route.

Why do I want Upload Plus?

If you tend to send a lot of big files, graphics, presentations.
Will I be able to get Upload Plus?

Upload Plus is only available to Be pro members.

There are a number of factors that determine the compatibility of a line for Upload Plus, but in general, if the length of your line is less than 2km away from your local exchange and/or you get download speeds of 12meg or more, you should be able to get Upload Plus.
How do I get Upload Plus?

If you are a Be pro member, you do not need to do anything - we will take care of it for you. You will be contacted within one week of your line being activated to determine if you will be able to enjoy the faster speeds of Upload Plus for free.
Will I lose any Download speed if I get Upload Plus?

Yes, it is possible that you could lose up between 1 and 3meg of download speed, but the amount you lose will depend on a number of technical factors.

Still incredibly tempting.. I'm inside 2Km, just. I guess I'd take the same kind of hit on upload speeds as I would for download speeds. For an extra fiver I don't know why I'm still with VM..
