Virgin Mobile Settings

Hi,
Today I have received my Virgin Mobile Sim card.

I have put it into my HP IPAQ H6340 and setup my voicemail all hunky dorey. I then automatically got the network settings from Virgin for WAP, GPRS and SMS.

But when I try to send a text I get a message.... ' You SMS message has not been sent verify that you have network coverage and then try resending again'

I have rebooted my IPAQ, but it still doesn't work. Also when I try to connect GPRS it also fails with a message... the answering modem has disconnected!

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Many thanks

For SMS, try setting up the Service centre/gateway number as +44 9958 879890. Not sure about the GPRS settings though... :erm:

Hi I tried that number no luck I have also spoken to Virgin Mobile and basically they have told me they can't do anything else as SMS works from another phone when I put the SIM card in that.... So i'm cancelling, back to Vodafone....

At last fixed the problem. My HP IPAQ had an old version of Windows Mobile 2003 I upgraded to SP30391 and it now works.... Just in case anyone has the same problem
