How do I feed a second TV from a cable box?
Just has Virgin install a Scientific Atlanta 4000 DVB and want to be able to watch TV in the bedroom as well. I understand that I'll need to do something to be able to use the remote upstairs and I'm looking into that, (suggestions?) but at the moment I can't even get a feed to my other TV. Have used co-ax cable from back of digital box which says 2 TV into other TV . Main TV is connected with scart lead. Is this not possible to do?

You should be able to output the RF (standard coaxial aerial lead) from the STB to a TV. You'll need to tune a channel on the TV to the STB's RF output frequency. Many people use channel 0 or 6 for that. You will only be able to watch the single channel output by the STB though (the same as you'll be able to see via the Scart lead). The STB will only decode one channel at a time. If you want terrestrial channels 1-5 as well as the STB output, you'll have to add some form of combiner between the STB and TV to feed in your terrestrial rooftop aerial lead. The analogue passthrough that Virgin Media used to supply has been discontinued. As for the remote control so you can change channels from the other room, there are various senders around. Just make sure the remote signalling is compatibel with the Scientific Atlanta. The remote signal types do vary from STB to STB. |

So I can't watch Channel 1 - 5 through the digi box on my second TV?
---------- Post added at 16:39 ---------- Previous post was at 16:24 ---------- Ok tuned in a channel on my upstairs TV so now getting a feed from digi box, including C 1-5. So far so good. Now looking at lots of confusing stuff about remote controls ... |

Tesco do a Technika sender for about £20. With this you can use the V+ remote too.
I have one, can take a bit to get sender & receiver lined up but once done works a treat. |

Technika TT07 Audio Video sender £27.97 And that's all I need to use the remote on the TV in another room? From what I can see that actually sends picture/sound to another TV - I'm already successfully wired up to receive in another room - just need to be able to use the remote. |

Sorry never read your post properly.
Try this link --> http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/skyaccessory If you do not want to buy another remote you want the TV Link - I would have a look around local stores probably cheaper than purchasing form Sky. Try ebay too --> TV link Kits |
Re: How do I feed a second TV from a cable box?
Think I've sussed this out and have now ordered a red eye, IR repeater and another remote control which hopefully will combine to do what I want.
